Responsibilities:
- Authoring public-facing documents, including a report on vocational education program offerings and comprehensive data governance policy and procedure documentation.
- Collaborating with subject matter experts to gather information and research best practices.
- Writing guidelines for proper data usage and consistent management.
- Creating technical documents such as data governance manuals, data stewardship procedures, audit and oversight policies, data risk management plans, and data reporting standards.
- Developing and maintaining consistent formatting for data governance policies.
- Defining procedures for handling changes to data governance policies and procedures.
- Establishing transparent and accountable data governance and stewardship practices.
- Ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency across all data governance documentation.
- Conducting compliance checks to maintain adherence to standards and information accuracy.
- Coordinating the display of simple graphics within documents.
- Ensuring high-quality content that conforms to established standards.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- 10+ years of experience writing technical instruction manuals and how-to guides.
- 7+ years of experience writing policies and procedures related to compliance with federal laws.
- 10+ years of expertise and support of MS Office and Visio.
- Bachelor's degree in IT, data science, statistics, business analytics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 16+ years of overall experience as a Technical Writer.
