Set during the kaleidoscopic backdrop of the biggest kite-flying festival in India, ‘Amdavad Ma Famous’, witnesses the transformation of an 11-year-old Zaid from a boy next door to an aggressive and a passionate kite-runner, till he comes across a challenge that threatens to keep him away from the one thing he loves.

Hardik Mehta: Hardik Mehta is an independent filmmaker from India, working in both fiction as well as documentary genre. His film, Amdavad Ma Famous was one of the most awarded documentary film of 2016. It also won the National Film Award (Golden Lotus) for Best Non-Feature Film, India (2015). The film was also invited by the French Academy of Cinema for a European panorama where it got screened along with 30 best short films from around the world in 9 European capital cities.

Hardik started as a script supervisor and an assistant director on Phantom Films’ ‘Lootera’ (2013) (Director: Vikramaditya Motwane) and ‘Queen’ (2014) (Director: Vikas Bahl). In 2014 he directed and edited a short film Skin Deep that got a theatrical release under the anthology Chaar Cutting (2015). Subsequently he made his first documentary Amdavad Ma Famous (2015). The film has traveled extensively at documentary film festivals world over and is available on Netflix. Hardik has also co-written the screenplay for Vikramaditya Motwane’s widely appreciated film Trapped (2017) starring actor Rajkummar Rao. The Affair his new short film that he has written & directed and is presented by Drishyam Films has received more than 2 million views on the internet. Currently, Hardik is under pre-production for his feature film.
