Chidananda Das Gupta was born on November 20, 1921 in Shillong, Assam Province, British India. He was a director and writer, known for “Amodini” (1994), “Bilet Pherat” (1972) and “Portrait of a City” (1961). He died on May 22, 2011 in Kolkata, West Bengal, India.
