Nishtha is an aspiring documentary filmmaker, photographer and editor. She grew up aspiring to be a Costume Designer and has been working in the Hindi film industry since she was 19 making her beginnings as a costume assistant. In a brief career of 3 years in costume design she worked on Hindi feature films ‘Besharam’, ‘P.K.’ and ‘Bang Bang!’ – before she found herself growing more curious about the art of filmmaking itself. She then shifted her focus to study film, by self teaching herself and learning on the job and arrived at one single passion that is, documentary films. Her credits include being camera assistant to Anil Mehta on the film ‘Sui Dhaaga’ and production assistant to Canadian documentary filmmaker Nisha Pahuja on her feature ‘Send Us Your Brother’ currently in post production. At present Nishtha works independently in various capacities as director, writer, cinematographer and editor for commissioned and self produced projects. She is also working on a few documentary scripts of her own to produce in the near future.
